Fire ant campaigners to rally on Saturday

LEADING voices in the fight against what campaigners say are the devastating effects of the fire ant eradication program will rally in Brisbane on Saturday, November 30.

Dr. Conny Turni will share insights into the program’s flaws and which alternatives could be used, while Sarah McGuire will explain the experiences from the Samford community and explain what can be done to protect properties.

“The relentless push for eradication has left countless homes, gardens, and ecosystems scarred,” Ms McGuire said.

“It’s time to demand change and accountability. Join us at the TPR Rally this Saturday as we unite against the toxic legacy of the fire ant eradication program.”

They will discuss safer, non-toxic solutions to treating fire ants, and how to protect homes, gardens, and wildlife.

“We want to hold those in power accountable for the harm caused. Your voice matters. Your presence counts,” Ms McGuire said.

“Join the rally and make your voice heard. Bring friends, family, and neighbors. Let’s show that we will no longer stand idly by as our communities suffer.”

This Saturday, November 30, Brisbane Botanic Gardens, from 2.30pm
