WORK has begun on the new Ripley Police Station.
The $34 million police station will become the new headquarters for the Ipswich District Police and will serve as a hub for general policing duties as well as specialist units, including the Child Protection Investigation Unit, the Criminal Investigation Branch, and the Ipswich District Property Section.
Member for Bundamba Lance McCallum said: “The new Ripley Police Station is a great enhancer of community safety for the area and will be of great service to this fantastic part of Queensland.”
“As we continue to grow, this facility’s state-of-the-art features will ensure the region remains safe, and secure for a long time to come.
Mayor Teresa Harding said residents deserved to feel safe.
“Its facilities, and specialist units as well as its general duty officers will serve the community well going forward,” Cr Harding said.
