$6.1 million park under construction at Walloon

ONE of the region’s fastest-growing communities will have a new park at Dawn Walloon.

Daybreak Park construction begins this month, with the park expected to open later this year.

The $6.1 million park will feature a family-friendly plaza with barbeques, shady seating and a playground that will include equipment for kids of all ages.

Also planned is a multipurpose court, gym equipment and a ping pong table.

The park’s design was shaped with help from council and the local community and built on ideas raised during upgrades at Henry Lawson Bicentennial Park.

When finished, Dawn Walloon will include more than 1,800 homes, a school campus with King’s Christian College, a town centre with shops and cafes, and 30 hectares of green space.

Land prices across the greater Ipswich region and South East Queensland continue to skyrocket.

According to research from property group Oliver Hume, the median lot price across the region jumped 11 percent in the March quarter — with the Ipswich region leading the way.

The data showed the median lot price of nearly 1,200 sales across South East Queensland rose by 11 percent, to $437,900 in the March 2025 quarter.

The median price per square metre of land rose above $1,000 for the first time, to $1,043/sqm.

The most substantial price growth in the quarter was experienced in our region (+11 percent), Moreton Bay (+10 percent) and Redlands (+5 percent).

When complete, the Dawn Walloon development will feature 1,800 homesites across more than 177ha.
